born the runt of his litter and sicker than the others, liokki was pampered by his loving mother and hidden away within the confines of their stone cottage. even when it was far too obvious that liokki had reached puberty and had grown the male parts needed to join his brothers in the protection of their village his mother denied the council and tradition and pretended he was female, making him follow in the footsteps of his sisters.you would think he would balk at such circumstances but he never felt at home as his actual sex and the thought of holding a weapon and taking a life shook the confines of his soul.
unfortunately, fate comes for us all and in his 17th year garleans invaded his village, setting fire to the cottages and hovels and killing all who stood in their path. whether anyone other than him survived he did not know but because his mother always kept him so closely guarded in their basement, the stone kept the fire from reaching him.liokki arose from the wreckage and saw the blackened remains of all that he held dear and vowed revenge on the garleans and in some ways himself as well. that day he picked up a lance and began the training he and his mother had been so intent on running from.
